Greetings all,
On this day, we commemorate with sadness the major earthquake in Constantinople on December 14th in 557 AD:
The quake razed most of the buildings in the city, caused
damage to the dome of the Hagia Sophia (it collapsed the following year) and
damaging the city walls to the point where the next year invading Huns were able
to penetrate them with ease
