Today we celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the Emperor Diocletian on December 22 in 244 AD:
As Emperor he was the first to divide the Roman Empire between East
and West, setting the stage in which the Eastern Roman Empire began its
unique history.
There should be cake! :)
