Greetings all,
Due to low water levels from drought, structures of the ancient Greek city of Scepsis have been uncovered:
Most
prominent are tombs and a bath house belonging to the Byzantine period
of the city. Scepsis was flooded by the building of the Bayramic Dam in
Turkey.
Scepsis
may well be the origin of the word "Skeptic" as the city had long
associations with ancient philosophy. Archaeological work has begun
there while the water levels are low.
